Altex parts help to recreate history!
Fans and lovers of the iconic RAC Rallies of the 1970’s and 1980’s will know straight away what an iconic gem of a golden era we are talking about here: Altex was asked to supply custom-made parts for none less than a fantastic replica of the Works Triumph TR7 V8 Rally Car with full historic rally specifications, built by davidapplebyengineering.com, to be taken out for its maiden run on the Roger Albert Clark Rally in November 2023. “It’s not every day that you are asked to help recreate rally car history!” said owner (and ex rally-driver in his youth) John Jackett – and without any hesitation agreed to embark on making airboxes, steering arms, seat mounts and dash panels for this recreation of an iconic rally car of the early 80’s.
It’s heart-warming to read what driver Chris Ingram had to say about the DAE TR7 V8 ‘Beast’, having driven it for the first time at the Albert Roger Clark Rally in November: It “…was a true joy to drive, like nothing I’ve ever experienced before … This car has a soul … The best is definitely yet to come. We’ll be back!…”
Wishing the Chris Ingram Rally Team and David Appleby Engineering Team who are running the TR7 V8 for Chris Ingram and Hannah McKillop the best of luck for future classic car rally events which they will, no doubt, be dominating in style. Altex is proud to have been able to contribute – through their expertise in precision engineering.
