Design & Development

Altex has a motivated and highly skilled team of engineers. Using the latest technology in CAD/CAM and manufacturing systems, we are able to offer customers a low cost, quality solution.

Our high value products range from the most basic of profiled blanks to large assemblies and intricately machined parts.

Value Engineering
Because we understand our customers' needs for on-going cost saving measures, our engineers will look at re-engineering products to take advantage of low cost production methods.

CAD
By working closely with customers to understand their requirements, our design team can help to transform basic concepts into production reality.
Customers' sketches can be converted into quality drawings or 3D models.

Solidworks Premium
Altex uses Solidworks as its main drawing and 3D modelling package. Solidworks allows the technical team to design and plan; parts, assemblies, jigs, fixtures and all related drawings, which are parametrically linked.

When a change is made to the design, every affected part, assembly and drawing within the product is automatically updated, therefore reducing planning lead time. Information can then be exported in a number of formats and imported directly into the relevant machine programming systems.

The extra tools in this software allow us to produce photo realistic renderings, giving a true representation of the finished product. This gives us the ability to provide customers with a clearer view of their product, enabling them to decide whether any changes are required, thus potentially reducing initial prototype costs.

The tools include 3D models which can be emailed to customers and viewed on their own system without the need for Solidworks. To see an example click here (Place mouse pointer on image, left click and hold down, then move to rotate the image.)
